F. Spruill Thompson has a diverse background in the real estate industry with more than twenty years of experience in business brokerage, business valuation, development, investment properties, property management, sales & leasing as well as particular focus on 1031 tax deferred exchanges. Mr. Thompson served as President and Chief Executive Officer of 1st Atlantic Properties, Inc. for seven years. In his role as President and CEO, he oversaw the strategic planning and daily operations of the company as well as all forms of business development. During his decade and a half career in the commercial real estate industry, Spruill has been involved in numerous transactions valued at over $ 500,000,000. He has worked closely with the Wilmington International Airport to develop their Business Park. At Cape Fear Commercial, Spruill has developed new markets and geographically expanded the company's full range of services.

Mr. Thompson graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He served in the United States Army, and the US Army Reserves. He held numerous positions on the New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Board of Trustees as well as the role of Vice - Chairman. He is a past president of the Realtor's Commercial Alliance of Southeastern North Carolina (RCASENC) and continues more than a decade of service on the NCAR Commercial Forms Committee. He resides in Wilmington with his wife, Karen and their two boys, Shepherd and Gordon, as well as their dog, Bella.
